Catalogue of the Unarchived is a performative research project by Frederik Britzlmair, developed within the context of the Master’s program "Spiel und Objekt" at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin.
The project explores the act of archiving not as preservation, but as encounter — and unarchiving as a conscious release. At its center is a cloakroom: a temporary, transitional space where everyday garments and objects are handed over, examined, recorded, and briefly held before being returned.
Each object is treated not as evidence, but as a trace. Each gesture — of giving, receiving, storing, or forgetting — becomes part of a living, impermanent system.
The performance unfolds across a shifting infrastructure of care, order, and disappearance. Objects are archived. Some stay. Some return. Some resist.
An online catalogue reflects the archival process in flux — selective, fragmentary, and designed to dissolve.
